Shkodran Mustafi Severe Injury
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi limped off the field in Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan on Monday morning, and coach Joachim Loew suspected a serious injury.
“It does not look good, it looks like the ligament is torn. We are waiting for a full diagnosis, but it looks like he will miss a minute, “added Loew after Germany’s 5-1 win in their last World Cup qualifier.
The center-back came out of the field with a thigh injury in the 36th minute, assisted by German medical staff.
It was a tough opening round for Germany at Kaiserslautern when Bayern Munich defender Niklas Suele also suffered a leg injury in the 45th minute of the first half.
Germany secured their place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia with an away win against Northern Ireland last Thursday.
They completed their campaign with a perfect record after defeating Azerbaijan to claim a historic 10th victory in World Cup qualifying.
This is the first time the German team have achieved an unbeaten run in their last 16 games.
